Summer Sunday School Options

The Life of Jacob with Jim Power – Fellowship Hall – June 9th. Join us for the exciting conclusion to Jim Power’s exposition on the life of Jacob!
EFCA—What We Believe with Pastor Donn Hill –Fellowship Hall – Begins on June 16th. What are the theological convictions of our denomination, the Evangelical Free Church of America? Where do these convictions come from? Pastor Donn will unpack the biblical foundation of each of the ten points from the Statement of Faith of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
"Family Sunday School" with Youth Pastor Tanner Mans This is a class for all ages. We will walk through questions in the “New City Catechism.” Our time together also aims to help parents continue discipling their families in these truths throughout the rest of the week. Contact Pastor Tanner with any questions. We will meet downstairs in the youth room beginning on June 9th. 

Congregational Meeting June 9th at 7PM

All church members are encouraged to attend the congregational meeting on Sunday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m. The agenda will include a vote to approve 17 new members and a vote to approve two changes to the church by-laws that are recommended by the elders. The elders recommend the following applicants for membership: Tom and JoAnn Baker, Adam Brundieck, Eric and Christin Espinosa, Kevin Kruse, Tanner and Katie Mans, Nick Neeb, Bruce and Florine Rohr, Danielle Simons, Deanna Streeter, Denny Tolliver, Mark and Jessica Weibrecht, and Colin Wipf. Copies of the two recommended changes to the church by-laws are available at the Welcome Center.

Women's Ministry Summer Events: 

June — Join us on Tuesday, June 18th, for a fun evening of dinner fellowship and swimming (optional). We are having a salad dinner and swimming night at Elena Cook's (2512 S Roosevelt Circle) starting at 6:00 PM. Bring a favorite summer salad, fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers, a chair, and a towel. We hope you will bring a friend or meet a new one!
July — Save the date for a friendship night and potluck at Beth Dryden's pool on Tuesday, July 16th.
August — We can't wait to see you on Thursday, August 8th, for another wonderful friendship night at Jean Bender's. 

SCUBA Vacation Bible School

VBS runs from July 21st-July 25th from 6pm-8:30pm at First E Free. Children ages 3 to 5th grade are invited to attend. Please register by scanning the updated QR code on the online bulletin.

Operation Christmas Child Upcoming Event

  • Tuesday, June 11: Bags4Boxes sewing from 2pm-4pm or 4pm-6pm at the church. Contact Linda Wieler for more information.  

All Church Picnics

Church picnics take place at 6pm on the last Sunday of the month in the summer. They are held in place of our normal Sunday evening service. Tableware and beverages are provided, but everyone is asked to bring an entree to share, as well as a side based on your last name:    
  • Sunday, June 30th: Upper Tuthill park (A-K= Dessert; L-Z= Salad /Appetizer)
  • Sunday, July 28th: McKennan park picnic shelter (A-K=Salad /Appetizer; L-Z= Dessert)
  • Sunday, August 25th: Upper Tuthill park (A-K= Dessert; L-Z= Salad /Appetizer)
